GLDM Govt Degree College Wraps Up Special Winter Camp

Kathua : The NSS Unit ‘Cheshta’ of Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College, Hiranagar, on Thursday concluded the dynamic One Week Special Winter Camp themed “Nothing like Voting, I Vote for Sure.”
Held under the patronage of the College Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna and the supervision of NSS Program Officer Dr. Ram Krishan, the week-long event (29th February-7th March 2024) featured a series of engaging activities aimed at motivating and preparing students and the community for active participation in the democratic process.
Throughout the week, activities such as poster making, slogan writing, and a quiz competition were organized to highlight the significance of voting in a democratic setup. The program was coordinated by Prof. Madhavi Manohar Lal, and Dr. Namrata Choudhary presented the formal vote of thanks.
Notable events included a Quiz Competition on the theme ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure,’ where Team Democracy emerged victorious. A visit to the adopted village Pathwal for a Plantation-cum-Cleanliness Drive and Voters Awareness rally showcased the commitment of NSS volunteers in promoting civic responsibility.
The valedictory function, graced by Principal Dr. Pragya Khanna and other dignitaries, concluded with the honoring of top-performing volunteers.
Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma, NSS Committee Member, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Ram Krishan, NSS Program Officer, presented a comprehensive report on the week-long camp. Cultural activities added flair to the event, celebrating the achievements of the participants.
The successful culmination of this special winter camp reinforces the college’s commitment to fostering civic awareness and active participation in the democratic process.
