DLSA joins DSW, GGHS Ramban to celebrate Int’l Women’s Day

Ramban : District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ramban celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing an awareness program in collaboration with the District Social Welfare (DSW) Department, Ramban and Government Girls High School (GGHS), Ramban.
The program was held under the guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Ramban, Ranbir Singh Jasrotia.
Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bashir Ahmed Munshi was the Chief Guest. The awareness program was also attended by Ld. Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Shilpa Dogra, Ld. Munsiff JMIC Ramban, Siddhant Vaid, President, Bar Association, Social Workers Special Women Cell, Suneha Thakur, and staff of District Judiciary and DLSA Ramban. Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Ramban and staff of Govt. Girls High School Ramban along with students were also present in the program.
In his address, the CJM highlighted the importance and role of women in society and also mentioned challenges that women face in day to day life. He emphasized the empowerment of women for the betterment of women and society as a whole. He encouraged the female students to study hard and work for their goals wholeheartedly.
Ld. Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, addressed the participants and made them aware about various free legal services and schemes that are available for all women such as Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna for young girls. She urged all the present women and girls to be aware and take advantage of all the schemes available to them.
Ld. Munsiff JMIC Ramban, in his address, highlighted the importance of education and legal awareness among women. He also impressed upon the efforts and role of the District Legal Services Authority in providing free legal aid and services and organizing various awareness programs to make women and general public aware of all the schemes and policies of the State and Central Government.
Other guests also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the role women play in society. They also encouraged the young girls present in the program to pursue their dreams and understand the importance of self dependence so that status of all women, without any discrimination could be enhanced in the society.
The event concluded with the address of Social Worker, Special Cell for Women Ramban Suneha Thakur, Ramban who expressed gratitude and assured the present women of all possible help and assistance.
