Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has recovered illicit timber (deodar) in village Kherman area of Handwara.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a reliable inputs Police recovered 32 logs of illicit timber (Deodar) from the cowshed of Ab Rehman Ganai @Showkat S/o Mohd Subhan R/ol Kherman Wadipoora, adding therein that a case vide FIR No. 34/2024 has been registered under relevant sections of law besides initiating further investigation into the case.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that the drive against timber smugglers shall continue in order to ensure protection of green gold. Police on this occasion also said that it has been making every effort to keep society free from crime and also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal & anti-social activities.
