Kishtwar: The Women Development Cell at Government Degree College Kishtwar, under the convenership of Prof. Falak, in collaboration with NSS Unit, Career Counseling and Guidance Cell (CCGC), and the District Social Welfare Department, celebrated International Women’s Day 2024 with great fervor and enthusiasm.
The event, held under the esteemed supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) JyotiParihar, witnessed an active participation of approximately 150 students. The event was coordinated by Sonika Devi. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. AsmaJavaid, setting the tone for the day’s festivities.
Students showcased their creativity and talent through various activities such as poster making, painting, and a seminar dedicated to Women’s Day. A panel of esteemed judges including Prof. Hitesh Kumar, Prof. EssarulAyuob, and Dr.WasimAkram adjudicated the competitions.
The winners of the competitions in Painting were Saloni,PriyaManhas, and Pallavi who secured the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes respectively.Besides in Poster making Rekha Devi, Salma Liyaquat, and Mamat secured the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes respectively. Also in Seminar AbrooWajid, Anurag Sharma, and Salma Liyaqat secured the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes respectively.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) JyotiParihar, in her address, emphasized the indispensable role of women across various sectors, acknowledging their contributions to society. She lauded the Women Development Cell team for their efforts in organizing the successful event.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed faculty members including Prof. Umar Deen, Prof. Prithvi Raj, Dr.SehrishGazal,Prof. Prof. Vijay Kumar, Prof. Rishi Kumar, Prof. Vikram Singh, Prof. Yassir, and Dr.Zahoor Din. Representatives from the Social Welfare Department, including InduBaala, Sanna Jan, RuchingParihar, Monika Sharma, Diksha Sharma, UrviBadyal, and Anwar AlaqKichloo, also attended the event.
The celebration concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Bilal, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for making the event a grand success.
