Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam&Pulwama and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Qazigund during patrolling at Village Berigam intercepted a suspect identified as Mohd Amin Dar S/o Abdul Ahad Dar R/o Berigam while carrying a polythene bag, who tried to flee after noticing police party, but was apprehended tactfully and during search, 85 grams of charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that in a similar action in Pulwama a police team while acting on specific inputs about hording of contraband substance by one Mohd Ayoub Rather S/o Gh Mohd Rather R/o Frasipora Pulwama at his house raided the said house, recovered 10.4Kgs of Charas powder like substance and arrested the said accused on the spot.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at respective police stations besides initiating investigations, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward or Dial 112 with any information about drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
