Div Com-(K) reviews arrangements for smooth observance of Shab-e-Meraj, following Friday

Srinagar : The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhurion Saturday convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the celebration of MahaShivratri across the valley.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, Officers of Health Services, Floriculture, PDD, PHE, SMC, R&B, Fire and Emergency, Transport, SRTC, Food Safety and other concerned departments.
The meeting held threadbare discussion on the civil arrangements to facilitate the Pandit Community to observe the festival with religious fervor.
Addressing the Officers, Div Com instructed Director Floriculture to ensure availability of fresh flowers at Shankar Acharya Temple and KheerBhawani.
He asked officers of the Horticulture Department to ensure availability of walnuts and Lotus Stem (Nadru) at prominent religious places and localities of the Pandit Community.
Similarly, concerned officer of the Fisheries Department was directed to ensure availability of fish in the market.
Meanwhile, Div Com directed SMC to conduct cleanliness and sanitation drives at the religious places of the community to create an atmosphere of festivity.
PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply on the occasion of MahaShivratri while Jal Shakti was asked to provide water tankers in addition to regular water supply.
J&K RTC was asked to provide buses for transportation and similarly traffic police was asked to chalk out a traffic plan for smooth movement of devotees.
