DG Rural Sanitation conducts field visit of various Panchayats in district B’la

Baramulla: Director General Rural Sanitation, Anoo Malhotra Saturday conducted a comprehensive field visit of various panchayats in the district here to assess the effectiveness and utility of assets created under Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G).
During her visit, the DG inspected waste Segregation Sheds, Community Sanitary Complexes, Greywater and Plastic Waste Management units as well as other facilities established under SBM-G in Tangmarg, Kunzer and Lalapora area of the district.
She also interacted with local officials, stakeholders and community members to gain first-hand appraisal of the impact of these assets on rural sanitation and hygiene practices.
On the occasion, the DG was briefed on the mission’s continuous efforts to improve rural sanitation and hygiene.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, the DG’s visit demonstrated her commitment in ensuring the success of SBM-G and promoting cleanliness and hygiene in rural areas.
The field visit also highlighted the importance of sustained efforts to maintain and utilize the assets created under SBM-G effectively. It also emphasized the role of community participation and engagement in achieving the mission’s objectives of a clean and healthy rural J&K.
