Poonch: An awareness programme was organized by the district administration Poonch here at Dakbunglow to educate the stakeholders about the benefits and opportunities provided by the PM Vishwakarma scheme.
Chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Sandesh Kumar Sharma, the event witnessed the participation of a number of potential beneficiaries and government functionaries.
The programme commenced with a welcome address, followed by a comprehensive lecture delivered by IEDS Assistant Director Rajesh Kumar. Kumar provided a brief overview, emphasizing the significance of the PM Vishwakarma scheme and its potential impact on the lives of artisans.
The scheme, launched on September 17, 2023, by the Prime Minister, covers 18 categories of artisans, ensuring their access to a range of benefits upon successful registration and verification.
DK Tyagi, IEDS Assistant Director from MSME DFO, Jammu, presented a detailed explanation of the registration process, addressing queries and clarifying the concerns. Representatives from CSC Centre and the Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India, also shared valuable insights on the scheme’s execution and the role of their respective departments.
Motivating all participants and district officers, the Guest of Honour highlighted the importance of bringing more potential beneficiaries onto the platform, thereby maximizing the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma scheme. Recognizing the efforts of the district authorities in facilitating registrations and verifications, Additional District Development Commissioner, Sandesh Kumar Sharma (JKAS) appreciated their dedication and encouraged further registrations to ensure wider participation and increased benefits.
Concluding the event, Khalid Husain, General Manager DIC, extended a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and participants for their valuable contributions.
