Drug peddler arrested in Ang,Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Anantnag and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Bijbehara at a checkpoint established at Waghama Bijbehara intercepted a vehicle (Swift) bearing registration number JK01X-3736 driven by Manzoor Ahmad Rah S/o Abdul Rahman Rah R/o Waghama Bijbehara an during search, 18 Kgs of Poppy Straw and a Mixer Grander were recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bijbehara beside initiating investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’sabove quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
