Kathua: District Mineral Officer KathuaRajinder Singh has lodged an FIR against an offender for illegally excavating and transporting minerals from land at Janglote.
The FIR has been lodged under different IPC, MMDR Act and other provisions of the law. The accused has been immediately arrested by police and further investigation is going on.
Earlier, a complaint was also filed before Deputy Commissioner DrRakeshMinhas by some local people and taking immediate cognizance of the complaint, instructions were issued to DMO for taking strict action.
It was informed that the offender was making sale of mineral from the land by using JCB and tractor trollies in violation of rules of Geology and Mining department.
