Ramban : Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur, on Monday convened an extensive public outreach programme to assess and address the public issues and concerns at Sanasar.
The outreach programme, organized by the district administration under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, aimed to facilitate locals to highlight their issues and seek solution.
The event was attended by District Development Council Chairperson, Dr. Shamshad Shan along with DDC members, Director Housing and Urban Development Department, CEO PDA, ACR, ACD, GM DIC, CEO, CMO, CAO, CHO, CAHO, DSHO, Cluster Head J&K Bank and other district officers, prominent citizens besides general public.
The Commissioner Secretary said that these public darbars are being organized across J&K under the directions of Lieutenant Governor, aimed at gathering direct feedback, issues and aspirations from the grassroots level besides addressing the issues of local populace at their doorsteps. He added that these initiatives underscore the commitment of J&K administration towards inclusive and need based development.
The Secretary highlighted the significance of engaging with the public directly to understand their needs and aspirations. Through these Public Darbars, residents are encouraged to highlight their concerns and provide valuable insights into the development priorities of their communities, he added. “It is imperative for us to bridge the gap between the administration and the people we serve,” stated the Commissioner Secretary.
The Commissioner Secretary emphasized that identified genuine demands will be integrated into various J&K and centrally sponsored schemes, ensuring a holistic approach towards addressing the needs of the population. These initiatives align with the government’s vision of participatory governance and citizen-centric development, where the voices of the people are not only heard but also acted upon, he maintained.
PRIs led by Dr. Shamshad Shan highlighted various issues of public interests including upgrading of road from Patnitop to Sanasar, effective implementation of JJM projects, augmentation of Health and Education infrastructure, opening of Bank branches and ATMs, Cable Car for farming activities, execution of Gondola project at Sanasar etcetera.
While responding to the concerns raised by the DDC Chairperson, the Commissioner Secretary issued directions to the concerned authorities to open bank branch and ATM in the area besides ensuring quality healthcare facilities in the area. She directed the authorities to take appropriate action on every public demand within the shortest possible time.
Responding to the public issues, the Commissioner Secretary emphasized the combined role of public representatives and administrative machinery in ensuring effective implementation of development works. She called upon the stakeholder departments to adopt meticulous planning, which is crucial for enhanced execution of development projects.
Mandeep Kaur, while interacting with officers of line departments, called for adopting a public friendly approach in resolving issues of public importance by making optimum use of existing resources.
She also visited and inspected the stalls set up by various departments to educate the public about their schemes and services.
