Kishtwar : Principal Secretary Culture, Suresh Kumar Gupta, on Monday convened a mega public darbar at Sarthal area of Kishtwar and listened to grievances and demands of people besides inaugurating audition for ‘Kishtwar Idol’ season 2.0, a grand singing competition at Higher Secondary School, Sarthal.
The Principal Secretary had an exclusive interactive session with the public representatives from various panchayats of Sarthal area who put forth their demands and grievances concerning welfare and development of their respective areas.
The event was participated by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav, ACD, Phulail Singh, CPO Kishtwar, Shahnawaz Bali and other district and sectoral officers including CEO, CMO, DSWO, DPO, Tehsildar, BDO Trigam, Executive Engineers PWD and Jal Shakti besides others.
Scores of locals from adjoining areas of Sarthal, Ghan, Karool thronged the public darbar and projected their issues and demands, ranging from upgradation of local infrastructure and streamlining of public service deliverance mechanism.
Other highlighted concerns included delimitation of Sarthal block on priority, employment in Ratle HEP and upgradation of public infrastructure including roads and bridges. The public also voiced their aspirations for improved facilities in HSS Sarthal and NT-PHC Sarthal by ensuring adequate staff and infrastructure.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal Secretary underscored the paramount importance of holding these public darbars, stating that its primary objective is to ensure that the grievances of people are redressed at their door step besides every individual reaps the benefit of all welfare and developmental schemes. He asked the public to actively engage with the district administration and contribute towards effective development of the district.
Assuring prompt resolution of public issues, the Principal Secretary stated that concerns raised during the event would be examined and addressed expeditiously in consultation with the concerned authorities.
Principal Secretary appreciated the “Hello Kishtwar ” initiative of the district administration envisaging recording of grievances of people on phone for an assured time bound redressal with emphasis on coverage of poor people residing in far flung areas.
Reviewing the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), the Principal Secretary emphasised upon the masses and farmers to benefit from schemes offering heavily subsidized credit-linked options. He encouraged the farmers to leverage HADP schemes for hi-tech farming and allied sector practices to enhance their income manifold. He also impressed upon the public representatives and district officers to disseminate awareness about the welfare schemes among the common masses for optimum outcome.
Meanwhile, the Principal Secretary inspected the departmental stalls and interacted with the officers and officials and enquired the status of benefit being extended to the eligible beneficiaries.
The Principal Secretary also inaugurated the an singing audition at HSS Sarthal for local singers of Sarthal under the Kishtwar Idol season 2 launched by the district administration. He announced that the winners of Kishtwar Idol Season 1 and season 2 will be felicitated at UT level by the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL).
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner shared positive updates including transparency in employment of land losers in the Hydropower Project (HEPP) and the approved RR plan for the Ratle HEP, fostering infrastructure development including roads dedicated for the Sarthal area. He announced that 200 mtrs of damaged WSS Agral will be repaired soon and updated that the measures for rationalisation of staff in NTPC Sarthal will be done promptly in consultation with the Health Department. He also threw light on scholarship schemes meant for ST students.
