Doda: In a proactive move to tackle the rising issue of drug abuse, the District Level Committee of Narcotics Coordination (NCORD) convened its 20th meeting under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh.
Among other officers, SSP Doda, ADC Bhaderwah, SDMs, and Tehsildars also attended the meeting virtually, further enriching the discussion with their valuable insights.
Under the direction of DC Doda, officers deliberated on implementing strategies aimed at curbing drug peddling and disrupting the supply chain. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy, stringent measures against individuals involved in drug-related activities were reiterated, reflecting the district’s unwavering commitment to eradicating this menace.
One of the key directives issued by DC Doda was the maintenance of updated records at medical shops to monitor and regulate drug transactions effectively. Furthermore, recognizing the pivotal role of education in raising awareness, the education department was tasked with organizing drug awareness events in every school.
Additionally, the provision of drug testing kits in schools, colleges, and sensitive areas was mandated to facilitate early detection and intervention.
In line with the committee’s resolve to combat drug abuse comprehensively, DC Doda emphasized the need for seamless coordination among all stakeholders and departments. This collaborative approach aims to strengthen enforcement measures and enhance community engagement in the fight against drug abuse.
As the district intensifies its efforts to address this pressing issue, the directives laid out by DC Doda underscore a unified commitment towards creating a drug-free environment and safeguarding the well-being of its residents.
