Doda: Deputy Commissioner (DC) DodaHarvinder Singh on Wednesday asked the management of the Government Medical College and Hospital Doda to foster patient care and provide best possible civic and other amenities to the people visiting the premier health institution.
During a visit to the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on the prescription of generic medicines, provision of adequate security arrangements in the hospital premises, provision of an ATM facility and addressing concerns related to parking, and potential incidents like molestation.
He was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police JavaidIqbal, Principal GMC Dr. Puja Vimesh, Chief Medical Officer Dr Om Kumar, Tehsildar.
The DC talked to Medical professionals, UG Doctors, and representatives of the medical department. The purpose was to evaluate the functioning of the hospital, catering to the patients from across the District.
Several critical issues were addressed on the spot meeting, including effective implementation of the Ayushman Golden health card, status updates on Jan Aushadhi and many others.
The DC emphasized the need for a 24-hour ambulance service and urged the concerned officers to resolve internal issues in coordination with civil and police administration.
Medical students raised concerns about accommodation, library facility, security checking, payment of stipend and housing rent allowances, which were duly noted.
Additionally, gynecologists and pediatricians highlighted security concerns during their working hours, prompting the SSP Doda to assure comprehensive security arrangements by the district police.
While inspecting the Jan Aushadhi and AmritAushadhiKendras, the DC emphasized prescription of standard medicines to patients and to ensure the availability of quality generic medicines.
The DC inspected various hospital wards and the drug store of the Associated Hospital, ensuring firsthand appraisal of the infrastructure and services provided.
Directives were issued to address all highlighted concerns promptly, aiming to enhance the overall healthcare experience for patients and medical professionals alike.
