Jammu : A seven day special Winter Camp organized by Government Degree College Marh concluded on Monday with a grand valedictory function organised under the esteemed patronage of the College Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul.
The camp was organized to inspire life skills, community service and village development among the participating students. Prof. Sachin Kumar Bhagat NSS PO supervised the camp.
The seven day camp was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul followed by his awareness Lecture. NSS Committee Convener Prof. Madhavi Prasher briefed volunteers about “communities and NSS” in the 2nd session, while the 3rd session witnessed a cleanliness drive by the NSS volunteers on the college campus and in village Panchayat Dhateryal. In the last session, volunteers learn about life skills imparted by Prof. Sachin Kumar through an inspiring lecture.
The Day- 2 started with a warming up session and a lecture on the same by Ravi Kumar. He elaborated how Warming up helps to activate the body and primes the connections between our nerves and muscles, which improve the efficiency of movement. The second session witnessed Plantation Drive and Shramdaan to develop a sports ground
Similar activities were conducted on the following days.
On the closing day, Prof. Sachin Kumar NSS PO briefed about all the activities that were held in the camp. The Volunteers performed various activities like a Nukkad Natak on Drug abuse, sang songs and shared their experiences of the camp with others.
