Srinagar: Below is the timeline of the weeklong activities of Jammu & Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha at major public events within and outside Jammu & Kashmir :-
On 12th Feb, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met the delegation of Other Backward Classes (OBC) Samaj at Raj Bhawan.The delegation comprised of political leaders and prominent citizens expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and J&K Administration for reservations in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Panchayats in J&K . He said it is for the first time OBCs will have reservations for grassroot democratic representation. Later in the evening, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacted with the 120-member delegation of Pahari Community at Raj Bhawan.
He reiterated the commitment of Jammu & Kashmir Government to ensure that the benefits of Scheduled Tribes reservation is extended to Pahari, Padari, Koli and Gadda Brahmin this year and they are included in the Tribal plan schemes. The prominent Pahari leaders conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for empowering the Pahari community while safeguarding the interest of Gujjar, Bakarwals and other listed tribes.
On Feb 13, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha interacted with the 120-member delegation of Pahari Community at Raj Bhawan. On Feb 13, On the eve of Basant Panchami, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched ‘J&K Sambhaav Utsav-2024’, organized by Resident Commission Jammu Kashmir at J&K House, New Delhi. The Lt Governor also launched Information-cum-facilitation hub ‘Hello J&K’; Digital Photography, Painting and Singing competitions for Youth on the theme “Know Jammu Kashmir” and inaugurated various new projects undertaken by J&K’s Resident Commission. The Lt Governor congratulated the officials of the Resident Commission Jammu Kashmir and all the associated departments of J&K Government.
On February 15, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the Annual-day function of Sant Hare Ram Dass Public School at Mandal. The Lt Governor appreciated the school run by Shri Shiv Mandir Nyas Trust for its significant contribution in education, society’s welfare, integration and solidarity. He congratulated the school administration, teachers and students on the occasion.
On February 15, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the two-day Cultural Festival ‘New J&K-New Hope’ at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. He lauded the joint endeavour of All J&K Folk Artists’ Association, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala to showcase the rich musical heritage and folk art legacy of Jammu Kashmir.
On February 16, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid obeisance to Lord Shri Martand at Shri Martand Surya Temple, Paloura, Jammu. He participated in the Mahayagya organised by Shri Martand Tirath Trust and prayed for the peace, progress and prosperity of one and all. The Lt Governor interacted with the people and extended his hearty greetings on the auspicious occasion.
On 16 Feb, Sheikh Muzaffar, President J&K Nationalist People’s Front (JKNPF) called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan. A delegation of Traders Association Trikuta Nagar Jammu led by its President Sh Abhinav Anand also called on the Lt Governor
