DC B’gam reviews advance preparations in view of inclement weather forecast

Budgam: In view of the moderate- heavy snowfall forecast in coming days, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, AkshayLabrooon Saturday chaired a meeting of officers to review advance preparations at district level to ensure seamless snow clearance, availability of all essential commodities and services and also to mitigate exigency, if any, in the district.
The DC directed all concerned to execute a joint action plan effectively to ensure that people of Budgam have a smooth, pleasant experience alongside predicted snowing and also mitigate any challenge arising out of inclement weather.
He instructed officers of all engineering wings to keep their men and machinery in ready gear and stationed at all designated locations for timely snow clearance on all roads/ links to ensure prompt connectivity restoration.
In order to ensure uninterrupted power supply, the DC called for timely restoration of all essential lines and timely installation of affected infrastructure, if any be carried out seamlessly.
Similarly, Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti were instructed to ensure unaffected water supply to all areas.
He directed that all SDMs, Tehsildars and other concerned officers to take comprehensive rounds within their jurisdiction to review the action on ground.
The CMO Budgam was instructed on smooth ambulance service during any requirement and adequate medical facilities in all upper and low lying areas.
BMOs were given instructions on smooth functioning of all health centres in their areas for adequate healthcare facilities to the general public.
The DC also informed the general public to contact the district control room at 01951-255291 for any assistance required.
The meeting among others was attended by the ADC, CEO Doodhpathri, CEO Yousmarg, SDMs, CMO, Executive Engineers of different engineering wings, Tehsildars, EOs of MCs etc.
