Pulwama: The District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting was Thursday convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom with a particular focus on Annual Credit Pan for 2024-25, based on Potential Linked Plan by NABARD.
The meeting provided a platform for key stakeholders to deliberate on strategies to promote economic growth and development through the effective implementation of the Annual Credit Plan.
The amount allotted for the priority sector under credit plan (2024-2025) was approved for Rs. 3120.65 crores as compared to last year plan (2023-2024) of Rs. 2831 crores which is an increase of around 10%.
During the meeting, significant discussions were held to outline the action plan under the Rural Self Employment Training Institute. This underscored the importance of enhancing skill development and vocational training within rural areas, aiming to empower individuals and create sustainable opportunities for economic self-sufficiency.
Dr. Basharat emphasized the significance of these initiatives, highlighting their potential to spur economic progress and foster inclusive development across the district. The proactive approach demonstrated by local leadership reflects a commitment to addressing the diverse economic needs of the community.
In line with the broader objective of promoting economic empowerment and financial inclusion, the discussions further focused on the identification of key areas requiring targeted interventions to catalyze growth and development.
The active participation of various stakeholders, including representatives from financial institutions, government departments, and local community leaders, underscored the collaborative effort and shared commitment towards driving positive change within the district.
The District Consultative Committee meeting served as a platform for the exchange of ideas and the formulation of actionable strategies to support local businesses, entrepreneurs, and aspiring individuals seeking to enhance their skills and capabilities for sustainable livelihoods.
Dr. Basharat reiterated the importance of ongoing collaboration to bring the outlined plans to fruition, ensuring that the benefits of economic progress are equitably distributed among all segments of society.
Later the DC released the Potential Linked Credit Plan for District Pulwama for all priority sector activities as defined by RBI.
