Block Diwas: DC presides over Grievances Redressal Camp at Kulgam, listens to issues of public for redressal

Kulgam: To listen to the public at their door steps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Wednesday visited Yaripora area and presided over a mega public grievance redressal camp as part of weekly Block Diwas.
The programme witnessed overwhelming participation of people from HomeShalibug, Yaripora, Nunmai, Yamrach, Dasen, Kokergund Munadguffan and other adjoining areas.
ACD Mohammad Imran, Tehsildar, BDO, Ex. Engineers from various executing agencies, CEO, CMO and other officers were also present in the grievances redressal camp.
On the occasion, public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues before DC and demanded fencing of graveyard at Home Shalibug, repairs of street lights in Yaripora, establishment of girls degree college, establishment of public library at Yaripora, augmentation of staff at SDH, establishment of ATM near hospital, repairs of Dasen-Nunmai road, installation of street lights at Nunmai, etc.
The other demands including augmentation of drinking water supply, desilting of irrigation canals, repairs and macadamization of roads and other demands of the area were also flagged-off by the people.
All the issues were listened to by the DC and some of the issues of immediate nature were redressed on the spot.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said that the purpose of holding such grievance redressal camps is to take appraisal of issues from the general public for their time bound redressal. He added that all the issues and demands were noted for further action as per feasibility and nor
The DC encouraged people to participate in Gram Sabhas to prioritize developmental works of their areas for the larger interest of the public.
He also instructed concerned to identify any vacant building for establishment of the Public Library in Yaripora.
Earlier, officers presented a brief about the status of works under execution of these executing agencies and the DC directed them to ensure timely completion of all works. He also instructed officers to ensure prompt and time-bound redressal of issues and grievances of people.
Meanwhile, grievances redressal camps were also held at D.H.Pora and Devsar.
