Bandipora : Animal Husbandry Department (AHD) Bandipora on Wednesday organised training cum Exposure tour for Dairy Entrepreneurs of district Bandipora under ATMA scheme 2023-2024 (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) at Mountain Livestock Research Institute (MLRI) Manasbal.
The training was presided over by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Bandipora, Dr Ghulam Ahmad Lone and was attended by Block Veterinary Officer Bandipora, Dr Khalid Hamid and other officers of the department from Block Sumbal and Bandipora besides progressive dairy farmers and members of FPOs.
The dairy entrepreneurs were provided training about modern dairy technology and a live demonstration about functioning of Feed Mill, Vermi compost and other latest milking equipment was also held.
The Head MLRI Manasbal, Dr Riyaz Ahmad Shah extended his full support to the department and Senior Scientist Dr Gowhar provided practical demonstrations of different units available in the institute like Mini Milk Processing Plant, Feed Mill, Vermi compost and Silage making (Silo pits).
The dairy farmers were acquainted with the modern concept of dairy, silage making and imparted beneficial knowledge which would help them to run dairy on scientific lines.
Participants which included progressive dairy farmers and members of FPOs expressed gratitude to the department about the training program and thanked the department for this endeavour.
