Ending Stigma, Embracing Dignity, One day workshop on Sparsh Leprosy awareness campaign held at B’pora

Bandipora: Health Department Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora on Tuesday organised a day long Workshop on sparsh leprosy awareness campaign.
The workshop organised under National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) was presided over by ACR Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad Wani and was attended by principal AMT school, BMOs, MS DH Bandipora, Medical Officers, MLHPs, Paramedics, District Management Unit And Block Management Unit of Health Department Bandipora besides other concerned.
District Epidemiologist, Dr. Nabeel in his welcome address highlighted prevention and management under NLEP.
On the occasion Senior Physician Consultant, Dr. Parvaiz Sajad Shah deliberated upon various aspects of leprosy and available treatment facility.
Dr. Parvaiz said that in District Bandipora presently only one case of leprosy exists. He said the patient is under treatment and is expected to recover soon.
He said all the necessary free treatment is provided to the patient by Health Department Bandipora under proper supervision.
On the occasion, ACR Bandipora Shabir Ahmad Wani distributed blankets, medicines, first aid kits and other items among leprosy affected patients.
