Kishtwar: In a proactive endeavor to enhance road safety awareness, the Motor Vehicle Department Kishtwar, under the leadership of ARTO Kishtwar, Mohd Saleem Manhas, conducted impactful awareness camps along the Kishtwar-Nagseni-Paddar road axis.
The initiative specifically targeted interior areas to ensure comprehensive coverage.
The day’s events commenced with an enlightening awareness camp at the Padyarna Bus Stand at Nagseni, followed by similar initiatives at Gulabgarh Bus Stand Paddar. The focus extended to critical routes, including the Gulabgarh Pallai link road, Gulabgarh Kundail link road, and Tatapani link roads.
Observably, the awareness campaign influenced positive behavior among citizens and commuters, as many opted for pedestrian travel over boarding overloaded vehicles, showcasing the tangible impact of the initiative.
During the course of the day, enforcement agencies, in collaboration with the Motor Vehicle Department, took assertive action by challaning 11 vehicles and seizing 7 vehicles for non-compliance with necessary documents and safety equipment.
