5-day long MSME (E-MDP) training Prog on “Tissue Culture, its Applications in Floriculture” for Start-Ups concludes in SKUAST-K

Srinagar : A five day long training programme on “Tissue Culture and its Applications in Floriculture” sponsored by MSME and organized by Division of Floriculture and Landscaping w.e.f 05-09/02/2024 concluded on Friday at SKUAST-Kashmir.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office SKUAST-K here, the valedictory session was chaired by Prof. Haroon R Naik (Director Research, Director Planning and Monitoring and Nodal officer MSME) Professor Neelofar(Editor SKUAST-K Journal and I/C Head, Div. of Floriculture & Landscape Architecture) along with other senior faculty members of the Division.
At the outset Prof. Neelofar delivered the welcome address and encouraged the participants to take best advantage of resources and facilities starting their units in every district. Dr QaziAltaf Hussain (Associate Professor, Div. of Floriculture & Landscape Architecture) coordinator of training programme provided a brief about the proceedings of the programme. He highlighted the scope and various aspects for successful entrepreneurship opportunities in Tissue Culture of Floriculture Plants. Prof Haroon RNaik shared his vast experience and deliberated about the scope of tissue culture and encouraged the participants by throwing light on business opportunities in this sector. A well prepared manual on Tissue culture and its application was also released for use of participants and students for which Prof Haroon Naik appreciated the organizers and Coordinators of the training programme for timely coming up with the compendium.
The session concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr F U Khan (Proferssor. Division of Floriculture & Landscape Architecture) Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir.
