Poonch : Deputy Commissioner Yasin M. Choudhary chaired a meeting to discuss the MGNREGA Convergence Plan for the upcoming financial year 2024-25 here on Saturday.
Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Development, Shafiq Mir, CEO PDA, Dr. Mohd. Tanwir, PO ICDS, Khalid Hussain Wafa, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Younis, IWMP, Naheem Un Nissa Bhatti, Xen REW, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Ashish Mahajan besides AEE REW attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for convergence among various departments to optimize resource utilization and enhance the effectiveness of developmental initiatives.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held to assess and strategize the convergence of departmental plans with the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to align their next year’s plans with MGNREGA projects. He emphasized that in areas where there is a shortage of funds, convergence with MGNREGA should be prioritized to ensure the completion of projects.
The DC asked the concerned departments to expedite the finalization of the convergence plan, setting a timeline of two days for its completion.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of MGNREGA in providing employment opportunities, promoting rural livelihoods, and fostering sustainable development.
