Key Highlights: J&K Interim Budget

Jammu : Below are the key highlights of J&K Interim Budget present by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman early this week in Parliament:-
₹934 Crore earmarked for transforming agriculture through the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme.
₹660 Crore allocated for Jammu and Kashmir’s equity in hydroelectric projects.
₹1907 Crore designated for enhancing school education infrastructure under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
₹1000 Crore allocated for comprehensive social security coverage, focusing on old-aged, widow, and disabled pensions through a saturation approach.
₹450 Crore set aside for establishing new colleges and universities.
₹1683 Crore allocated for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) roads, ₹300 Crore for Central Road Fund (CRF) roads, and ₹1000 Crore for the NABARD scheme.
₹370 Crore designated for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Urban) and ₹390 Crore for Flood Management.
₹430 Crore allocated for women’s empowerment programs like Ladli Beti and Marriage Assistance.
₹400 Crore earmarked for constructing transit accommodations for Kashmiri Pandit employees.
₹91 Crore allocated for developing new tourism destinations, circuits, and heritage preservation.
₹140 Crore designated for sports infrastructure development.
₹100 Crore allocated for sewerage projects, ₹70 Crore for townships, and ₹50 Crore for the development of Dal Lake.
₹500 Crore allocated for bank capitalization and ₹40 Crore for tourism and industrial promotion.
₹30 Crore earmarked for high-density plantation and ₹5 Crore for upgrading the transport sector.
₹272 Crore allocated for District Development Council (DDC) and Block Development Council (BDC) grants to improve local governance.
₹59 Crore allocated for police housing and ₹45 Crore for bunkers and CCTVs in police stations.
₹450 Crore designated for GST reimbursement to ensure timely processing of claims.
₹174 Crore earmarked for the development of model schools under the PM-Shri scheme.
₹150 Crore allocated for developing rooftop solar and other avenues of new and renewable energy.
₹100 Crore allocated for concluding the World Bank-funded Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project.
