Weekly Block Diwas: DC Rajouri addresses public issues at Panchayat Loorkote in Block Doongi

Rajouri : As part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat on Wednesday chaired a public outreach camp at Loorkote Panchayat of block Doongi to redress the people’s issues at their doorsteps.
During the event, a wide range of concerns were raised by the local residents seeking renovation of roads, staffing and upgrading of government institutions, augmentation of water supply, healthcare infrastructure and the construction of motorable bridges.
The specific demands highlighted included sanctioning of community hall, 63 KV Transformer, inclusion of eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G, Health Subcentre at Loorkote, augmentation of water supply, forest clearance issues, bridge at Kalidav, construction of road from main road to GDC Doongi, provision of electricity poles, speedy implementation of JJM schemes, adequate staff in educational institutions, handpump at GHS Kallar, construction of road to GHS Kallar, construction of road for Antee Mata Mandir etc.
The event also provided an opportunity to the government officers to inform the public about various schemes and programs being implemented by their respective departments. Attendees were encouraged to take advantage of these initiatives for their own betterment.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the public that all their concerns have been meticulously documented and the same would be addressed through the intervention of the respective departments in a phased and time-bound manner.
In a spirit of collaboration, the Deputy Commissioner Om Prakash Bhagat also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of all stakeholders who have played a vital role in achieving the objectives of government initiatives. He fervently encouraged them to persist in their hard work for the greater good of the common masses.
During the public outreach camp, the Deputy Commissioner assured that the paramount focus of the Government is ensuring all essential facilities reach the doorstep of the general public. He assured attendees that the most robust measures are actively being pursued to achieve this ambitious goal.
The Deputy Commissioner also issued on the spot directives to the concerned departments to prioritize and resolve the issues flagged by the public. Remarkably, several issues found resolution right there with the prompt intervention of the dedicated departments.
Referring to a number of Government schemes, he urged the public to avail themselves of the benefits of these schemes meant for their welfare. Regarding the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission schemes, he assured that the district administration is working tirelessly to ensure the speedy implementation of the schemes in order to provide tapped water connection to all the rural households of the district.
In a proactive move to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to all the eligible persons to get themselves enrolled as voters.
Highlighting the pivotal role of the sports activities to curb the menace of drug abuse, he advised the youth to take part in sports activities. He earnestly appealed to the public, emphasizing the importance of their support in collaboration with the administration to effectively combat the pervasive issue of drug abuse within the district
Regarding the ongoing developmental projects, the DC took a hands-on approach, directing officers to expedite progress and ensure timely completion. Recognizing the pivotal role these projects play in the growth of the region, he stressed the significance of efficient execution to bring tangible improvements to the community.
Regarding the bridge at Kalidav, the DC directed the concerned officer from the PWD (R&B) to prepare the DPR for the same at the earliest. Responding to the issue of the shortage of electricity poles, the EXEN PDD informed that an adequate number of poles have been sanctioned for block Doongi.
He earnestly appealed to the public, emphasizing the importance of their support in collaboration with the administration to effectively combat the pervasive issue of drug abuse within the district. He informed the public about the array of online services offered by the government, encouraging them to leverage these digital resources for their benefit.
At the Block Diwas event, the Deputy Commissioner issued a pivotal directive for seamless collaboration among the concerned departments. Emphasizing the imperative of swift resolution, the Deputy Commissioner called for a united effort to eliminate bottlenecks hindering the timely execution of developmental projects.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed baby care kits among the mothers of the newborn babies as a mark of respect and awareness under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
