DDC Shopian presides over Block Diwas at Hermain

Says “Weekly Outreach prog instrumental for good governance”

Shopian : As part of the Government’s public outreach programme, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb on Wednesday presided over a Block Diwas programme at Block Hermain, Shopian to assess the local issues and listen to the grievances of the people for their speedy disposal.
While interacting with the public, the DDC said that the Block Diwas is being organised across the length and breadth of the JK, with the sole objective to provide more transparent, accountable, public- friendly and responsive administration to the people.
This initiative of the Government is contributing immensely to good governance, DC, added.
On the occasion, several public issues including road connectivity to uncovered areas, better drinking water supply to the people of Reshipora and Alamgunj, upgradation of PHC, Hermain, replacement of damaged electric poles, cleanliness of irrigation Khuls, especially Tongri Nallah, segregation shed for wastage, augmentation of health infrastructure, repairing of Nagisharan road, High Mass lights for Hermain, shifting of LT Line at Alamgunj playground, etc. were projected by the people.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to the demands raised by the people and delegations. Some of the issues were redressed on the spot, while others were forwarded to the concerned departments, with strict directions to resolve the same expeditiously and submit the action taken report for all issues flagged-off.
The DDC directed the officers of Irrigation to gear up their men and machinery for cleaning the Tongri Nallah and other Nallahs at an earliest to facilitate the general masses.
Later, he inspected the Alamgunj Bridge and directed the concerned executing agencies for completion of the bridge within a stipulated time frame.
Earlier, accompanied by ADC, ACR, Xen. R&B, Tehsildar, BMO, EO, the DDC visited Aasar-i-Sharief Pinjoora, Shopian and took stock of the arrangements in place for the auspicious day of Shabi-i-Meraj.
SDM, Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmed; ACP, Manzoor Ahmad; Tehsildar, Hermain, ARTO, BDO, Hermain, District and Sectoral officers, besides, people in large numbers participated in the Block Diwas programme.
