Ramban: Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD), Sanjeev Verma, on Wednesday chaired a mega public outreach programme at Tringlapanchayat of Batote block to assess public issues and concerns.
“These public grievances redressal camps are primarily focused on facilitating direct engagement of administration with the community to address their concerns”, maintained the Commissioner Secretary while appealing the common masses to actively participate in such programmes to get their issues addressed.
The event, being organized by the district administration under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-HaqChaudhary, was aimed to provide a platform for locals to highlight their issues and seek resolutions.
The camp was among others attended by DDC Chairperson, Dr.Shamshad Shan, along with DDC members, prominent citizens and a large gathering of general public besides senior officers including Chief Engineer PWD, MohitMajan, PO, ICDS, Jahangir Hashmir, ADC HarbansLal Sharma, ASP, GauravMarjan and others.
SanjeevVerma underscored the importance of such initiatives, highlighting their role in ensuring equitable access to government schemes and developmental projects. He sought proactive engagement from the community to propel the district’s development trajectory.
Commissioner Secretary asked the Deputy Commissioner to intensify efforts to boost economical activities and provide more employment opportunities to SHGs, especially youth. He also directed the district administration to plan development of bus stand, shopping complex and Tourism Reception Centre in Batote.
Advising youth to start local production based production units for generating job opportunities, the Commissioner Secretary directed the district administration to erect Hats alongside NH-44 to facilitate FPOs. He also asked to identify land for establishment of an indoor stadium. He directed the concerned to formulate a FPO for buying wool from sheep breeders.
Acknowledging the district’s potential for growth, SanjeevVerma emphasized the significance of sectors like Horticulture and Agricultural promising concerted efforts for their enhancement. He assured the public of the administration’s commitment towards resolving issues promptly and in a result-oriented manner.
During the event, various concerns were raised ranging from infrastructure development to employment opportunities.
The Commissioner Secretary instructed the officers to address these issues promptly, emphasizing a time-bound approach for effective resolution.
Local representatives highlighted key demands such as Sub Division status for Batote, infrastructure improvements and employment opportunities. They also expressed community’s gratitude for recent initiatives like land allotments and improved healthcare facilities.
In response to civil issues raised, the Commissioner Secretary reassured the public of swift action, promising to prioritize the development of Batote based on valuable feedback received.
The event also featured stalls set up by various departments to educate the public about their schemes and services.
Additionally, a health camp organized by the Health Department provided essential services to the attendees.
PRIs led by Dr.Shamshad Shan highlighted various issues including Bus Stand for Batote, conduct of tourism activities at Baglihar dam, shift of administrative control of 6 panchayats of block Batote and Rajgarh from Doda, construction of Overhead bridge on NH-44 at identified locations, market linkage to local produces.
They also projected demands including rejuvenation of business opportunities in Batote market, construction of roads, replacement of wooden torn-out poles, proper implementation of JJM projects, development of indoor stadium, augmentation of Health and Education infrastructure, opening of Bank branches and ATMs, Cable Car for farming activities and execution of Gondola project.
Later, the Commissioner Secretary inaugurated a Plastic Waste Management Shed worth Rs 10 lakh and a Foot Bridge costing Rs. 4.10 Lakh constructed by RDD which will benefit 200 households of three panchayats.
