Jammu : Director General J&K Police R.R. Swain here on Tuesday sanctioned a welfare loan/relief exceeding Rs 1.42 crore for the benefit of 100 police personnel.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ J&K Jammu, the welfare loan/relief covers marriage expenses, medical treatment costs, and higher education aspirations of the wards of police personnel. Stating that Rs 51 lakh has also been sanctioned for 44 police personnel to assist in the marriage expenses of their sons and daughters/ self-marriage, Police in it’s statement further said that for medical treatment expenses, Rs 72.5 lakh has been allocated to assist 48 Police personnel, with amounts ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
Police in it’s statement furthermore said that in an effort to support the higher education aspirations of police personnel’s children, the DGP has also sanctioned welfare loans totallingRs 10.5 lakh for seven police personnel, adding therein that DGP has also sanctioned welfare relief in favour of 28 police personnel.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that the welfare loans are refundable and deducted from the salaries of police personnel in monthly instalments without any interest, reiterating therein that the welfare relief granted is non-refundable. Police in it’s statement also reiterated that financial aid initiatives demonstrate the commitment of the Police headquarters to help the police personnel and their families, in times of need.
