Poonch : The District Development Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary , chaired a meeting at the DC office in Poonch to review the progress of the District Jal Jeevan Mission (DJJM).
The meeting aimed to ensure the timely and efficient execution of projects in alignment with the vision of the “Har Ghar Jal with Nal” initiative, which seeks to provide access to potable drinking water for every household in the district.
Mission Director JJM- G.N Ittoo, Chief Engineer Jal-Shakti (PHE) Department Jammu- Hamesh Manchanda, Superintending Engineer Mechanical Circle Jammu- Boadh Raj & JE Ground Water attended the meeting through Virtual Mode.
Xen Jal-Shakti (PHE) Poonch- Riaz Ahmed, Xen PDD Poonch- Aftaab Ahmed, AEE Jal-Shakti (PHE) Civil/Mechanical Sub-Division Poonch/Surankote/ Mendhar along with AE’s and JE’s attended physically.
During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion took place, with a particular focus on the implementation of the JJM scheme in the District. The SE Mechanical Circle Jammu, Bodh Raj provided an update on the current status of Borewells/ Electro-mechanical works under JJM.
The Deputy Commissioner took review of pipe material availability and progress of Civil works scheme-wise and directed XEN Poonch to take stern action against slow moving Contractors. He directed the Executive Engineers to exert their efforts towards achieving the target of providing “Har Ghar Jal” (water in every household).
The primary focus of this review meeting was to ensure the timely and efficient execution of DJJM projects in Poonch. The District Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to provide safe and accessible drinking water to every household, thereby enhancing the overall well-being and quality of life for the residents of Poonch.
