Srinagar: Police on Monday said that SIU Baramulla has produced charge sheet of case FIR No. 104/2023 under section 7/25 IA Act, 120-B IPC, 13, 18, 18B, 20, 23 and 40 UAP Act of Police Station Uri before the Court of Additional Sessions Judge (NIA Court) Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the chargesheet was produced against six accused identified as Mohd Aslam Khatana S/o Atta Mohd R/o Churunda Uri, Muneer Ahmad Din Masi S/o Mohammad Din R/o Jabla Uri, Bilal Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohidin Dar R/o Hard Shiva Sopore, Akhtar Niyaz Bhat S/o Niyaz Ahmad R/o Mukhdam Mohalla Tarzoo Sopore, Mudasir Yousuf Goknu S/o Mohd Yousuf R/o Bagi Islam Krankshivan Colony Sopore, all under judicial custody.
Stating that one more accused namely Mohd Hassan Awan S/o Raj Mohd Awan R/o Dharkoot Uri at present Tehsil Bagh PaK has also been named in chargesheet under section 299 CrPC, Police in it’s statement said that the next date of hearing of the case is fixed on 20th February.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that on 11th August last year arms & ammunition and narcotics were recovered from the five accused persons at a checkpoint established at Powarian Thajal Uri, adding therein that the accused were found to be involved in cross border smuggling of arms & ammunition at the behest of Pakistan based militant handlers and its further distribution to LeT militants for carrying out militancy related activities.
