“The increasing frictions within the INDIA Alliance show the inability of Congress to strike a balance in the seat sharing agreements with its allies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections”
The Opposition INDIA Bloc is virtually collapsing much before it could throw up a challenge to BJP led NDA Government at the centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . While the ruling BJP led NDA Government has already started roping in old allies, the Congress led NDA Block is not only loosing potential allies day after day but also facing the heat from other potential allies like Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Admi Party and Mamta Benerjee’s Trinamool Congress. The exit of Nitish Kumar led Janta Dal (United) from INDIA Alliance Bloc and party’s return to BJP led NDA shows that regional parties are panicked with the fear of loosing both their identity and consequently the prospects of victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in their own strongholds in several states of the country. While the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has in one of her recent remarks said that Congress party has lost the capacity to get even 40 seats in upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Admi Party has decided to go it alone and not to contest even the Mayoral elections in alliance with Congress party in Chandigarah. The increasing frictions within the INDIA Alliance show the inability of Congress to strike a balance in the seat sharing agreements with its allies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“The increasing frictions within the India Alliance Bloc show that the recently launched is virtually on a collapsing mode as seat-sharing agreements are likely to run into rough weather in West Bengal where Left is unlikely to enter into an alliance with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Trinamool Congress is about to shut doors for any poll pact with the Congress Party. With Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Admi Party vehemently opposed to any truck with Congrees Party in Punjab, the increasing frictions in India Alliance Block are unlikely to end any time before Lok Sabha elections.”
With Nitish Kumar returning to BJP led NDA and Mamta Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal bargaining hard for bigger share in the seat sharing agreements in their own strongholds in many states, the strength of India Alliance Bloc to withstand the pressures of coalition politics has come into question. What matters the most is the fact that while incumbency factor gives BJP led NDA the strength it needs to secure it’s prospects for a record third term in upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the anti-incumbency factor is no where visible in more than 20 states run by BJP and it’s allies and henceforth the Congress led INDIA Alliance Bloc amid increasing frictions between it’s allies is loosing the strength to throw up a bigger challenge to BJP and Its Allies even in five of more than 20 states controlled by BJP led NDA right now.The increasing frictions within the India Alliance Bloc show that the recently launched is virtually on a collapsing mode as seat-sharing agreements are likely to run into rough weather in West Bengal where Left is unlikely to enter into an alliance with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Trinamool Congress is about to shut doors for any poll pact with the Congress Party.
