Adhere to timelines for Jammu Airport expansion: Secy CAD

Jammu: Secretary, Civil Aviation Department (CAD), Mohammad Aijaz Asad, on Thursday convened a meeting to review progress on Jammu Airport expansion project.
The officers of Airport Authorities informed the Secretary about the present status of works being executed on expansion of Jammu Airport. They informed about the work done so far besides apprising that there is pendency of structure removals, land possession and other issues.
The Secretary asked the concerned officers to remove the bottlenecks and expedite the pace of work on this prestigious project for timely completion. He directed the Animal Husbandry Department to shift cattle from Belicharana to a new farm at Chattha while the poultry was directed to be shifted within a fixed period of time to prevent undue delays.
Aijaz Asad directed the concerned authorities to remove all illegal structures within 100 meters of the Airport Boundary and disburse compensation against residential buildings affected by the expansion.
The Secretary also urged upon all the stakeholders to report all bottlenecks and hurdles to his office for resolution.
The Project Head briefed the Secretary about mobilisation, soil testing survey, engineering drawings prepared, so far. He added that the project is being executed in two separate segments, in parallel, to ensure that it is completed before deadlines.
The meeting was attended by Director AAI Jammu Airport SK Garg, DGM AAI Ganesh Sharma, Executive Engineer PWD, Ashwani Kumar, SP Jammu South, Ajay Sharma, Additional Secretary, Civil Aviation Vidushi Kapoor, Joint Director, Animal Husbandry, Dr Raman Gupta and other officers from Civil Aviation Department.
