Distt Admin Kulgam holds Block Diwas at Kund Block

DC listens to public issues,calls for proactive participation in Gram Sabhas, prioritising works having maximum community benefit

Kulgam: Under the weekly Block Diwas programme, a Grievances Redressal Camp was on Wednesday held at Kund Block of the district, in Waltengo Panchayat.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan presided over the camp and listened to various developmental and welfare issues of the public.
ACD, Kulgam on the occasion apprised about the rural development works including MGNREGA, SBM, Playfields, etc while as Exen Jal Shakti, Qazigund apprised about the ongoing water supply works in the block under JJM. Similarly other departments like R&B, KPDCL, Health also intimated about the functioning of their departments in the area.
Athar sought details of various developmental works ongoing under various sectors including KPDCL, R&B road works, JJM works etc and asked for speedy work execution for timely completion.
He also stressed upon the concerned to make adequate arrangements for the upcoming Annual Urs at Kund including Water, Power, Street lights, transport, security etc.
Delegations of the area apprised about starting of 24×7 services at PHC Waltengo, availability of technical staff for lab, USG, Xray, construction of Ziyarat at Waltengo, adequate availability of electricity and other arrangements during Urs, macadamisation of Chatergam – Nigeenpora road, bank branch in the area, road from Razloo to Churat, gynaecology services at PHC Razloo, macadamisation of inner roads at Razloo, playfield at Oriel, road from Kanchloo to Gujjer Basti, bridge at Kanchloo, PMAY units, road at Brinal, Chattergam to Brinal road etc.
Tribal Representatives appreciated efforts of the district administration for development efforts in the area while asking for further compensation of kins of victims of Waltengo Nar accident, road at Gujjer basti, Noubough, transformer for Nagrass, Panchgam along with construction of pending accommodation units of 2005 Snow Avalanche.
The DC on the occasion directed for immediate resolution of some of the issues raised during the camp while directing for proper follow up of other issues with concerned authorities for redressal.
DDC Member, Kund, Gulzar Ahmad Shiekh expressed gratitude to the district administration for organising Block Diwas in the area for grievance redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, DC assured that issues of development and welfare have been noted and steps shall be taken towards the direction of their redressal.
People should actively participate in Gram Sabhas and prioritise works which have maximum benefit for the community, DC urged people.
ADC, Vikar Ahmad Giri; ACR, Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; ACD, Mohd Imran; ACP, Shurjil Ali and other district and sectoral officers attended the block diwas along with hundreds of local population.
