Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has solved two theft cases in Pulwama by arresting accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lacs from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 30th January Police Station Pulwama received a complaint from one Abdul Majeed and Ghulam Rasool Dar, who alleged therein that unknown thief/thieves under the cover of night entered the apple orchard and stole various items, adding therein that a case vide FIR No. 19/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was also initiated.
Stating that during the course of investigation, one Arif Hussain Dar S/o Abdul Khaliq Dar R/o Chakoora Arigam was held and during questioning police confirmed its involvement in the commission of crime and later, on his disclosure about the stolen items was also recorded, Police in its statement further said that in a similar action another theft case FIR No. 334/2023, one Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Ladermad Awantipora was apprehended and stolen items related to the said case FIR including 6 Samawars and 14 Copper Plates were recoverd.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have lauded its efforts for solving the cases.
