Ganderbal : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shaymbir on Tuesday led a proactive meeting at conference hall of Mini Secretariat, here to assess the current status of the Sakhi club in Ganderbal, demonstrating a commitment to empower women and provide them with accessible justice and support.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the need for Anganwadi workers to actively address and report women’s issues to relevant departments, ensuring swift support and justice.
The DC stressed the importance of raising awareness through pamphlets, aimed at creating a safe and supportive environment for women. He suggested distributing these pamphlets at prominent locations, including Anganwadi centers, to make information readily available to women seeking assistance.
Shyambir urged all stakeholders to collaborate in enhancing the Sakhi club’s service delivery, making it more accessible to the general public, especially women.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the Sakhi club stands as a beacon for women’s empowerment, and with continued collective efforts, it aims to strengthen its role as a One Stop Centre for support and justice.
The meeting saw active participation from key stakeholders, including DSWO, CDPO Ganderbal, and staff from OSC, DHEW, Anganwadi supervisors, and workers.
