Declaration of Nasha Mukt Panchayats discussed at Kishtwar

SDLC on NCORD deliberates on criteria

Kishtwar : A significant meeting of the Sub Divisional Level Committee (SDLC) on NCORD was convened on Monday in District Kishtwar to deliberate upon the declaration of Nasha Mukt Panchayats.
The meeting was chaired by Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Varunjeet Singh Charak, who is also the Chairman of SDLC.
The meeting was attended by District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Kishtwar, Sunil Bhutyal; Tehsildar HQ DC Office Kishtwar, Chander Shakhar Sharma; Tehsildar Kishtwar, Muneeb Umar; Tehsildar Drabshalla, Irshad Ahmed; Tehsildar Bunjwah, Tejinder Sharma; BDO Trigam, Sonia Parihar; BDO HQ Chahat Bharat; BDO Nagseni Abhilash Sharma; and representatives of various blocks.
The discussion revolved around key agenda items such as the criteria for declaring Panchayats as Nasha Mukt (Drug-Free), strategic approaches, and the implementation of a periodic review mechanism.
Speaking at the meeting, the ACR directed the concerned Tehsildars and Block Development Officers (BDOs) to expedite the process of declaring Nasha Mukt Panchayats. He emphasized the importance of submitting proposals in this regard at the earliest.
Furthermore, he urged participants to conduct regular Gram Sabha, Bal Sabha, Youth Club, Mahila Sabha, and Senior Citizens Club meetings to address the issue of drug menace in the community. He stressed the need for a comprehensive mass awareness and sensitization campaign, highlighting the importance of utilizing a broad-based media strategy with a special focus on social media platfor
In an effort to engage the youth and deter them from drug addiction and other social vices, ACR Kishtwar encouraged officers to involve youngsters from the panchayats and urban local body (ULB) wards in sports activities.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to concerted efforts towards creating drug-free communities and fostering a healthier and safer environment for all residents of District Kishtwar.
