GDC Kulgam organises Webinar on Importance of NAAC Accreditation

Kulgam : An illuminative and enriching webinar on the theme “Understanding the Importance of NAAC accreditation for colleges with special focus on colleges of J&K” was conducted by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Government Degree College Kulgam on Saturday under the aegis of Viksit Bharat @2024 for the colleges of J&K to understand the importance of NAAC accreditation.
The webinar was attended by more than 120 participants from different colleges of Jammu and Kashmir and other institutes across the country. Among the participants included the noted academicians, principals of various colleges, faculty members, research scholars and students from all over country.
Principal of the college, Prof. Syed Eazaz Hussain Rizvi, in his welcome address thanked Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary Govt. to Higher Education Department and Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges for their unwavering support and guidance. He highlighted the importance of NAAC accreditation for colleges and showcased the progress made by the institution in this direction.
The invited speaker on the occasion, Prof. Geer Mohammad Ishaq, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Kashmir gave a detailed presentation on the theme with his perspective and understanding on the importance of NAAC accreditation for colleges. His presentation on different aspects of NAAC highlighted the requirements to be prioritized for a successful NAAC accreditation of Higher Education Institutions.
Coordinator IQAC, Government Degree College Kulgam, Dr. Gowhar Hamid Dar in his talk profiled the progress made by the institution since its foundation in the year 2004. He further, highlighted the achievements made by the college and IQAC cell post accreditation and also spoke about the plan of action to be carried forward.
The luminaries engaged in a constructive discussion on the theme and all the issues and aspects related to the theme were discussed in detail.
The vote of thanks on the occasion was presented by Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Rather, Member IQAC, Government Degree College Kulgam.
