Drug peddler arrested in Baramulla, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Boniyar, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK05D-8299 driven by one Idrees Shafi Khan S/O Mohammad Shafi R/O Noorkhah Bijhama and during search recovered110 grams of Heroin from the possession of the said who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Boniyar where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Boniyar and investigation has been also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to report drug peddling or any other crime of their areas at the nearest police establishments or dial 112. People also appealed people to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein that action will be taken against the criminals as per law.
