Block Diwas: DC listens to people at Kulgam, takes detailed review of ATR of grievances raised in previous events

DC instructs Officers to ensure no grievance goes unheard

Kulgam: Under the ambitious weekly Block Diwas initiative, grievances redressal camps were on Wednesday held at three blocks of the district viz. Devsar, Kulgam and D.H Pora to take appraisal of the public issues, grievances and demands.
To take first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan presided over the grievance redressal camp at Kulgam.
The grievance redressal programme witnessed participation of people from Matibug, Frisal, Redwani, Brazloo Bhan, Brazloo Jageer, Kharpora and other areas.
People apprised the DC about their issues and grievances besides projecting various developmental demands of their areas.
People from Matibugh demanded de-silting of the canal, a delegation from the Redwani area demanded to make OHT functional and widening of Redwani Babapora road.
People from Gasren demanded the installation of transformer, besides a delegation from Shalipora demanded organising a camp for updation of the Aadhar card.
People from various other areas also participated in the grievance redressal camp and apprised the DC about public demands and developmental requirements of their areas.
Officers and heads of departments also responded to the queries and grievances of the people pertaining to their departments.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the public addressed some of the immediate nature of grievances on the spot.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the aim of the programme is to obtain first hand appraisal of issues and grievances of people for timely redressal of these issues.
He instructed officers to ensure that no grievance goes unheard and to adopt a pro-people approach.
Among others, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, JDP, ACR, ACD, ACP, GM, Exens and other district officers and officials were present in the grievance redressal camp.
