Srinagar: Below mentioned are some of the highlights of the weelong engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha with weeklong public events within and outside Jammu & Kashmir:-
On 15th January, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the ‘Baat Bharat Ki’ Conclave- 2024, organised by Panchjanya at New Delhi. Later in Jammu, a delegation of Jammu Kashmir Other Backward Classes Welfare Association called on LG Sinha, at Raj Bhawan. The delegation submitted a memorandum of demands pertaining to the implementation of J&K Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023. A Joint delegation of Karewa Fruit Growers & Dealers Association and Fruit & Vegetable Market, Jablipora , Anantnag also called on the Lt Governor.
On 16th January, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday dedicated the Baramulla Stadium renamed after General Bipin Rawat to the public. Paying homage to the brave soldier and military strategist, the Lt Governor remembered the service of General Bipin Rawat in North Kashmir in various capacities and his immense contribution in peace, progress and prosperity. He also joined the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, and called for collective efforts from all sections of the society to ensure that no beneficiary is left behind. LG Sinha also inaugurated and laid foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 38 crore.

On 16th January, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the revamped Old Habba Kadal Bridge on River Jhelum in the Shehr-e-Khaas area of Srinagar. He congratulated the Srinagar Smart City Limited and the people on the restoration of the historic Old Habba Kadal Bridge into a pedestrian corridor and state-of-the-art public space.
On 16th January, delegation of Athletes from Kashmir called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan. The members of the delegation on behalf of the athletes of Khelo India Centre of Excellence for Rowing have requested the Lt Governor for hostel facilities to the trainees from remote areas.
On 17th January, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha released ‘Intikhab-e-Kalam-e-Rahi’, Urdu translation of the poetic compositions of Jnanpith Award recipient poet Prof. Rehman Rahi by noted writer Dr Satish Vimal. The Lt Governor congratulated Dr Satish Vimal and the team associated with the publication. He also released the Coffee Table Book of Jammu Kashmir Haj Committee “The Spiritual Journey HAJ” at Raj Bhawan. He congratulated Jammu Kashmir Haj Committee and the editorial team on the occasion.
On 18th January, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the first meeting of the Advisory Board for Creating and Developing Entrepreneurship (ABCDE), constituted under the aegis of J&K Higher Education Council, at Raj Bhawan. He also felicitated the winners of the 32nd JK Cement’s Architect of the Year Award (JK AYA), at Jammu. On the occasion, the Lt Governor congratulated all the talented architects, planners and designers, who have played pivotal roles in shaping the future infrastructure, urban transformation and sustainable development. He also commended the endeavour of JK Cement Ltd. and the management of JK AYA Secretariat for recognising the invaluable contribution of architects in nation-building.
On 19th January, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday released Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust’s Tithi Patra Panchang Calendar for the year 2024, at Raj Bhawan. He also congratulated the editorial team and members of the Trust on the occasion.
Dr SP Varma, President Gandhi Global Family, J&K called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan. A delegation of All J&K National Health Mission Employees Association called on the Lt Governor and apprised him of their concerning issues.
