DC Kupwara Reviews Arrangements for National Voters Day Celebration

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, also serves as District Election Officer (DEO) on Thursday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for the celebration of National Voters Day (NVD) in the district.
During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held to review various arrangements for the smooth celebration of National Voters Day, falling on 25th January.
It was given out in the meeting that the main function of NVD will be held at Town Hall Kupwara.
On the occasion, the DC impressed upon the officers to work with added dedication and close coordination to ensure vibrant celebration of the event.
The Chief Education Officer was asked to ensure conduct of Art and Essay competitions in Higher Secondary and High Schools to mark the celebration of National Voters Day. The Cultural Coordinator was directed to present a couple of cultural items of students at Town Hall Kupwara, highlighting the significance of National Voters Day.
It was also given out in the meeting that the functions for celebration of NVD shall also be held in Assembly Constituencies and Booth level across the district. The Booth Level Officers were also directed to conduct special Voter Registration drives for enrollment of new voters, besides, they shall also distribute EPIC cards among the newly registered voters.
ADC Kupwara, GhulamNabiBhat; Dy. District Election Officer, ACR, CEO, DIO and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
