DC tours Arnas area, inspects ongoing developmental works

Reasi : Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Paul MahajanWednesday undertook a comprehensive day-long tour of Arnas to assess the progress of various ongoing developmental works and mega projects in the area. During the tour, the DC inspected the pace of works undertaken by JalJeevan Mission (JJM), works being executed by R&B and the mining leases.
The DC assessed the progress of work on the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) in Arnas, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 744.33 lakh. He conducted detailed examination of the pipe network, civil works, Dugwell and allied works costing Rs 130 lakh, and 392 Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs). The DC also inspected the WSS works at KanthanDharmatha, projected at Rs 947.46 lakh, emphasizing the importance of timely completion.
The DC also Inspected Mining block and directed the DMO and Tehsildars to demarcate and ensure to put in place systems to curb any attempt of illegal mining .
He inspected the under-construction Degree college building at Dharmari and Narloo Bridge, issuing directives to executing agencies to ensure the completion of the works by or before February 28, 2024.
Expressing a sense of urgency, DC directed concerned departments to expedite work, emphasizing timely completion by or before 28 of February 2024.
He urged executing agencies to mobilize resources effectively and achieve project milestones within the stipulated time frame. The DC underscored the need for a mission-oriented approach to maximize tangible results on the ground.
Other presents along with DDC were XENs PWD, JJM, Tehsildars, Officers of GREF and other officers posted in the area.
