2 drug peddlers arrested in Kulgam, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar :Police on Tuesday said that it hasarrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Kulgam during patrolling at Bypass Kulgam near Chatabal Bridge, intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Mohd Sadiq WazaS/o Ghulam Muhammad Waza R/o Ziyaratgali Kulgam and Bashir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gull Mohd Sheikh R/o Chawalgam who after noticing Police party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully and later during their search, seven Kilogram of Grinded Cannabis Powder filled in the bags was recovered from their possession.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 09/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kulgam besides which investigation into the case was also initiated , Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and also reassured them that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
