Kulgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, AtharAamir Khan on Monday chaired a meeting of officers at the mini-secretariat here to review progress and achievements made under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the district.
At the outset, the District Agriculture Officer briefed the chair that under KisanSamparkAbhiyan Phase 1, 25977 farmers participated and 25637 registrations were made and under phase 2nd of the programme 2892 farmers participated and 2851 farmers were registered.
During the meeting, departments presented a comprehensive overview of their achievements, detailing aspects such as plan implementation, beneficiary approvals, banking connections, convergence of activities, and processing of applications through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
Highlighting the pivotal role of HADP in establishing a robust and profitable agricultural ecosystem, the DC underscored its significance in supporting local farmers.
He emphasized the need for effective implementation of the programme to ensure maximum benefits for the farming communities.
Special attention was given to the prompt approval of cases under allied department schemes, showcasing a proactive approach to meeting farmers’ financial needs and enhancing their overall well-being.
Recognizing the importance of awareness programs, the DC urged officers to conduct extensive outreach initiatives and reach out to people as the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme fosters a commitment to optimizing its advantages for sustainable agricultural growth.
He also instructed the concerned to ensure 100 percent expenditure of releases.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; JDP ZahidSajjad, ACR, CHO, CAHO, DAO, AD Fisheries, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, DFO, Representatives of Lead Bank and other concerned officials.
