Jammu: In view of suspected firing along the border in Khour area of Akhnoor, Army on Sunday said that it was a speculative exchange of fire and no ceasefire violation (CFV) has taken place.
“The news of CFV on Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor Sector is circulating on various media platforms. It is clarified that no CFV has occurred,” a Defence Spokesman said.
He added that it is just a speculative exchange of fire due to fog and poor visibility, which is a normal activity on forward posts.
“The Sector where speculative firing has taken place is primarily the International Border sector and not LoC,” the Spokesman stated.
