Jammu: The State Election Commission (SEC) has released the schedule for the updation of the Panchayat Electoral Roll-2024 in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the revision schedule outlined by the Commission, the publication of the draft Panchayat Electoral Roll is set to commence from January 15, 2024. The qualifying date for individuals attaining the age of 18 and becoming eligible for registration in the Panchayat Electoral Roll-2024 has been fixed as January 1, 2024.
The period for filing claims and objections, including additions, deletions, corrections, and transposition, is scheduled from January 15 to February 5, 2024. The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) is mandated to dispose of claims and objections by February 16, 2024. The final publication of the Electoral Roll 2024 is slated for February 26, 2024.
The revision schedule also includes the organization of special camps at polling booth locations. Panchayat Election Booth Officials (PEBO), comprised of Village Level Workers (VLWs), Multi-Purpose Workers (MPWs), and Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS), along with Assembly Booth Level Officers, will be available with necessary forms and the Panchayat Roll to guide electors on January 27-28 and February 3-4, 2024.
The SEC encourages eligible individuals to participate actively in the update process, ensuring an accurate and comprehensive representation in the Panchayat Electoral Roll-2024.
