Jammu: In yet another incident of militant attack, militants fired at army vehicle on Friday in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said that militants taking an advantage of darkness, fired at army vehicle in Khanetar area of Poonch district.
“There are no reports of any injury or major damage in the incident,” they said adding that the area has been cordoned while more details are awaited.
Earlier on December 21, four soldiers were martyred and three others injured when militants attacked an army vehicle at Thanamandi area in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The militants had targeted two army vehicles, a gypsy and a one-ton vehicle, which were en route to fortify the cordon in the area in neighbouring Surankote in Poonch where an anti-militancy operation was carried out following a mysterious explosion near Armed Police Headquarters.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also visited Rajouri-Poonch on December 27.
Northern Command Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday also reviewed security scenario in Rajouri sector along with top brass.
