Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO Police Station Uri at a checkpoint established at Tyre Morh Uri intercepted one Abdul Aziz Chaneeza S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o Uri Baramulla and during search, recovered 42 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Uri where he remains in custody.
Police in its statement also said that in a similar action a police party of Police Station Tangmarg headed by SHO Police Station Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Beighpora Hariwatnoo Tangmarg intercepted one Mohammad Assadullah Bhat S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o Rambailpora Bawah Kunzer and during search recovered 25 grams of Charas like substance from the possession of the said accused who was rrested and shifted to Police Station Tangmarg where he remains in custody.
Stating that cases have been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Uri and Police Station Tangmarg respectively besides which further investigations into the cases have been also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated it’s commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
