KVK Shopian concludes E-MDP on White Button Mushroom Production

Shopian : One Week Existing MDP on “White Button Mushroom Production Technology as an Agribusiness Enterprise” sponsored by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India for the rural youth/Farm women of village Ganowpora, Shopian was organised from 1st Jan to 8th Jan 2024.
The programme aimed at educating the rural youth/farm women about the potential career paths in mushroom production and its processing.Dr. Zaffar Afroz Badri, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Shopian, informed the trainees about different schemes available under HADP for Mushroom Production that can augur development of Mushroom based Micro and Small Enterprises in the region. Besides the Scientists of KVK Shopian, resource person from other KVK’s, AARC Pahnoo and Department of Agriculture delivered the lectures on different aspects of Mushroom production technology. Course coordinator Dr Shabeer Ahmad Ganie conducted the live demonstration on spawning and casing of Button mushroom.
